Had a great experience at Sage & Barrel. The food was excellent, especially the hot honey fish with fries—perfectly crispy on the outside while staying soft and flavorful on the inside. Every bite had a great balance of sweetness and savory crunch. Our server was awesome—very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Definitely a spot worth coming back to if you’re craving well-executed comfort food with a twist.
Sage & Barrel delivers excellent food with a creative twist on Midwest staples, executed with care and flavor. The service is warm and attentive, making it an easy fit for everything from family dinners to date night—casual or dressed up, you’ll feel right at home. Don’t skip the onion rings they’re a must. Add in rotating seasonal specials and some standout seasonal mixology, and Sage & Barrel becomes a place you’ll want to return to often.
Tried this place with my wife on our weekly datenight. She ordered the Blackberry Salmon and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. I tried the Rittenhouse Smokeshow Old Fashioned and my wife enjoyed the Moscato. The Old Fashioned was a little too smokey for my taste, but after I pulled the dried orange slice, it was much more to my liking. If you're lucky, you'll have Tony for your server, and enjoy the quality service he provides.
The food was absolutely delicious, and our server Jackie made the evening fabulous. We had the cheese curds which were delicious and unlike any we’ve had before, firecracker shrimp that were so tasty, a bourbon Gouda burger and for dessert key lime tarts and the most delicious lavender crème brûlée. Jackie didn’t rush us and answered all of our many questions. It was a lovely evening and we’ll definitely be back soon!
I had a great experience here! I came with family and the food was delicious, even across five meals. I had the pulled pork sandwich, and they had a great gluten free bun and even let me kmow about the onions that had gluten on it. The pulled pork was tunder and flavorful. On par with Caldwells BBQ! Even the kids meal was good! Our server was Tony and was prompt, attentive and polite. The ambiance is very classy. I would definitely recommend this to others and will definitely be back!
First time here and we loved it! First off service was super friendly and accommodating. Our server Tia was awesome she explained how everything in house is homemade and gave us great recommendations, thank you Tia!! We got the onion rings which were insanely good, then also got wings, fried shrimp and beer cheese burger. Were from NYC so we had high expectations and they were def met! Thanks again!
We've been here three times and will keep coming back. The massive onion ring basket is a must try. This visit I got the Happy Hour Margarita flatbread, it was tasty, with Bruschetta topping and balsamic glaze. Hubby got the pulled pork sandwich, the meat was nice and tender. It comes served on a pretzel bun. Our server, Tony, was friendly and attentive. Be sure to go to the Sage and Barrel website and sign up for the text club, the deals are definitely worth your time.
First timer, we have been wanting to try for quite some time. I had signed up for text messages. Took advantage of the free Firecracker Shrimp. It was excellent I had the fish sandwich, battered. Fabulous My husband had the Hot Honey Chicken Salad. He really enjoyed it. Our server was Gabby, super pleasant. Very knowledgeable Our only disappointment, they do no accept American Express , however that would not stop us from returning. Bottom line. We will return. We liked what we ate well enough to order them again but we will try something different. If you haven’t tried them you should.
We brought friends to dine with us and had a booth for four. It allowed us to observe as we ordered and waited for our food. There was a steady stream of people coming and going. The bar had TVs in case you wanted to take in some sports activity while enjoying happy hour. I will definitely be back to eat my way through the menu with every new guest that comes to town. Wow. Could not be more impressed with the variety and flavor of food, as well as beverages. 2nd trip: Went early afternoon on a Thursday and sat at the bar. Tried the flatbread and wasn't impressed with the over-abundance of chopped tomato. Not my idea of a Margherita flatbread. Wish their fun cocktails had a bit of a HH discount. Husband got the wings and a beer. Seemed over-priced for what we got at HH this time.
Love this place! The servers I have had have been Zack and Samantha. Both were fantastic servers that were on point with the recommendations and service. I will ask for them every time I go. Nothing against the other servers......just great service that I can count on! We have had a few different items here now. As far as starters go.....their Brussel Sprouts are amazing!! The beer cheese and flatbread as well as the Goat Cheese and Mushroom Flatbread were fantastic! Main dishes have been the Bourbon Glazed Salmon, Chops Diane, Horseshoe Stack (with Buffalo chicken), and Salmon tacos. All very good with tea Glazed Salmon and the Godzilla burger being my favorite so far. The Jalapeño Margarita and the Rittenhouse Smokeshowbare legit and highly recommended. The Blue Herron and Sour Apple mule and Blueberry Lemon mule are great as well. Great food, great drinks and great service! This place is awesome!
